IGNiTE Youth Speakout! (December 2011)
It’s been a busy and great year for the young people of the Ignite community in Harefield and Ickenham. We have divided the youth community into three main sections Circles, Socials, and Ignite 4:12.
Circles are groups that have their main focus upon God, and are concerned about the spiritual growth of young people in the Ignite Community. This is our community being true to God.
Socials are the groups that meet where the focus is more upon ourselves, and making sure we are enjoying and making the most of life. This is our community being true to themselves.
Ignite 4:12 is the name given to our communities response to the needs of others around us. The approach of which may come in a variety of ways and projects. This is our community being true to others. It is based up 1 Timothy 4:12...'Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech , in life, in love, in faith and in purity.'
This helps break down the kinds of activities planned and helps to make sure the young people are having a balanced lifestyle in how they relate and love God, one another, and the World. It also helps us to know how we are growing in God, being and enjoying life, and loving and serving our wider community.
In 2012 we want to ask some questions of ourselves as we seek to move from being a project to a community;
1. What does true Worship feel and look like to young people today?
2. What are our aspirations as a community?
3. What are our values?
Please pray for us as we invite the Holy Spirit to breathe through us this year and Ignite change to the lives of our World.
